BALTIC PM DAYS 2015 17-18 September

On May 8-9 the second conference Baltic Project Management Days 2014 “Do right projects and do right projects in agile environment” took place in Vilnius. More than 300 hundred participants both from private and public sectors attended a two-day event.
Forty three speakers shared their views and experiences at the Baltic Project Management Days 2014 in Vilnius, Lithuania. Among them, Tom Taylor, the President of UK Association for Project Management, Heikki Lonka, Chairman of Project Management Association Finland, Anders Sandberg, Chairman of the Board of Swedish Project Management Association, Gerry McDonnell, Senior Vice President at Ticketmaster International, Brian Wernham, author of Agile Project Management for Government and many other prominent speakers both from academia and businesses.

“Innovation, added-value for the stakeholders and clients and sustainability of results are crucial to each and every project or programme and only competent and knowledgeable project, programmes managers as reflective leaders may lead the project management successfully. We hope that this conference, initiated by a variety of international and local project management „ambassadors“, will continue as a traditional event and a constructive discussion forum in Baltics and Lithuania, analyzing and proposing efficiency methods and models for private and public sectors”, – Aurimas Pautienius, Executive Director of Project Management Association of Lithuania says.

The participants and speakers at the Baltic Project Management Days 2014 in Vilnius discussed Nordic and Baltic lessons learned in project management, compared classical-traditional project management versus Agile techniques, also discussed academic project management programmes and shared best project management practices both in public and private sectors. The presentations varied from global experiences such as introduction of project management into Siemens to first Lithuanian cube satellite mission case.

The Baltic PM Days project was launched in 2013 in Riga, continued in Vilnius and to be carried on in Tallinn in 2015. The Baltic Project Management Days 2014 were organised in cooperation with Latvian and Estonian project management associations and active involvement of NORDNET – a network uniting project management associations of Nordic countries.

Project Management Association of Lithuania is a non-profit project management organisation representing Lithuanian project managers and institutions. The association also aims to stimulate progress in project management as a profession, the professional training in project management and facilitating formation of career development in Lithuania.
